King Josiah was a young king who lived during a time of great evil and injustice. Josiah loved and trusted God and was a good king, but his people had long forgotten the truth about who God was and instead they made up their own ideas about Him. The results were disastrous! But one day Josiah’s servants discovered a long-lost copy of the book of Deuteronomy while renovating the Temple. This discovery was like a light shining in a dark place, and it led to a great revival of truth and justice for God’s people as they turned back to God’s word in faith and obedience.
Our time isn’t unlike Josiah’s day. Even though we have immeasurable access to the Bibles today, many people have forgotten about God’s word and therefore truth and justice are eroding. Biblical literacy is at an all time low and the results of this have also been disastrous for the church and many have lost their faith.
Our children need us to step up and help them know God’s truth so they can build a faith that lasts! Bible Explore is a program for kids Grades 4-6 to discover where the Bible came from, what the Bible is, how to read and understand it and why we can trust it. The Bible is an amazing book! It is a book that is breathed-out by God and tells us the story of God’s wonderful plan to rescue the world through Jesus. It is a book every child should have a chance to read and understand.

They read out of the book of the law of God, translating and giving the meaning so that the people could understand what was read… Then all the people began to eat and drink…and have a great celebration, because they had understood the words that were explained to them. Nehemiah 8:8,12
