Prayer is speaking with God. It’s so incredible that it’s almost unfathomable. And yet many of us don’t pray much at all. Why is that?
Because a lot of us don’t really know how to pray. Or at least our experience with it has been so lifeless we figure we must be doing it wrong. If we've been in church for any length of time we’re too embarrassed to ask how to pray at this point. And so, for a lot of us, we just keep infrequently praying about the same old things the same old way, and frankly, that’s pretty boring.
The whole world is starving for spiritual experience, for an encounter with the Divine, and Jesus gives us access to it. A way to come face to face with the King of the Universe, our Heavenly Father, with confidence that He’s listening and that He loves you.
The disciples of Jesus ask Him, teach us to pray (Luke 11:1) and Jesus tells them what has come to be known as The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13). Pray Like This is a sermon series focused on discovering all that Jesus taught His disciples about prayer.
