Ruth is married to Kevin, a fun and excellent Math and Physics teacher at Sardis Secondary, and they have three children: Larissa (’04), Ben (’07) and Dylan (’09). Ruth is the Executive Assistant at Central and thoroughly enjoys working with the team here. One of her favourite things about Central is the Christ-centred teaching and authentic love for God and His people. A verse that is near and dear to her heart is Colossians 3:17: “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
One thing most people don’t know about you: That she used to want to be a Hang Gliding Instructor (even though she’s never been hang gliding before)… or an Architect (she could sit and pour over thick magazines of hundreds of house plans for hours - one of her rare but favourite hobbies!).
Favourite Quote: “God is in every tomorrow, Therefore I live for today, Certain of finding at sunrise, Guidance and strength for my way; Power for each moment of weakness, Hope for each moment of pain, Comfort for every sorrow, Sunshine and joy after rain.” Author Unknown
An afternoon hike or an afternoon nap? She would enthusiastically choose an afternoon nap, although she could be talked into the afternoon hike under certain circumstances (such as the promise of a nap afterwards).
If you could have lunch with anyone living, who would it be? Jesus… But if you mean someone living on Earth, she would have to go with her wise and funny brother who pastors a church in South Carolina.
